Ten Ren Tea's Matcha Genmaicha tea is comprised of sencha green tea blended with roasted brown rice and matcha tea powder. Tea steeped from these tea leaves has an emerald green hue. The taste is pleasant with a hint of roasted rice and matcha. The aroma is a light scent of freshness and roasted rice. Genmaicha may be enjoyed hot or chilled. Available in 3.5 oz (100g) semi-vacuumed sealed bags. The water used to steep this tea should be about 160-180°F or 70-80°C. Use about 1.5 teaspoons (3 grams) of tea leaves for about every 5 ounces (150 ml) of water. A steeping time of about 3-5 minutes is recommended with more or less time depending on the desired concentration. As a rough guide, the higher the temperature of the water or the greater the amount of leaves used, the shorter the steeping time should be.
