This is Ten Ren Tea's largest stainless steel canister available and ideal for dispensing loose tea with its large opening. For small or tightly rolled tea leaves, such as Oolong, this canister holds approximately 6.6 lbs. For large tea leaves, such as Pouchong, this canister holds approximately 3.3 lbs. Approximate dimensions are as follows: 12.5 inches (32 cm) in height; and 8.25 inches (21 cm) in diameter at the base, and 5.25 inches diameter at the opening (13 cm). This canister does not include an inner lid, only an outer lid as pictured. The canister is made with stainless steel with a smooth, shiny outer finish. Physical weight is 1.8 pounds. Shipping weight is 9 lbs due to its large size. The interior of the canister can be rinsed out with warm water. Towel dry the interior and let it air dry in a warm environment. If one plans to store a particular tea in the canister, we recommend that a very small amount of tea be placed inside the canister and shaken for several minutes with the lid in place. This procedure will enable the leaves to absorb any other odors remaining in the canister and impart the appropriate fragrance for storage of the tea. |
